Secure AI Engineering

Build and secure AI for regulated missions

ISACA
Delivered by Virtual Infrastructure Services LLC — an accredited ISACA Training Organization.

Secure AI Engineering is the discipline of building and defending AI systems — and for defense contractors it means doing so under CUI, CMMC and NIST 800-171 constraints. This cohort-based track takes engineers from confident AI use to securing and operating AI in production.

The track at a glance

StageFocusYou leave able to
1 · FoundationalApplied AI & Agentic Systems for EngineersDrive AI tools (agentic assistants, LLMs, RAG) safely in real engineering work with structured prompting and guardrails.
2 · SpecializationAI/LLM Security & Secure AI InfrastructureThreat-model and secure LLM apps, RAG pipelines, agents and MCP — including in CUI and regulated environments.
3 · CertificationProduction AI (MLOps/LLMOps) & AI-Security credentialDeploy, monitor and govern AI in production, and sit an AI-security credential (e.g. ISACA AAISM).

Stage 1 — Applied AI & Agentic Systems for Engineers

A hands-on foundation in using generative and agentic AI the way senior engineers do: structured prompting, agentic workflows, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) basics, and the guardrails that keep AI use safe, auditable and repeatable in regulated settings.

Stage 2 — AI/LLM Security & Secure AI Infrastructure

Securing LLM applications, RAG pipelines, agents and the Model Context Protocol (MCP): AI threat modeling, the OWASP LLM Top 10, prompt-injection and data-exfiltration defenses, tool/data access control, guardrails, and evaluations — with attention to CUI boundaries.

Stage 3 — Production AI (MLOps/LLMOps) & AI-Security Credential

Operate AI at scale and safely: deployment, monitoring, evaluation in production, drift and cost, and AI governance. Culminates in prep toward ISACA AAISM, a natural next step for your CISM-credentialed staff.

Roles you'll be ready for

AI/LLM Security Engineer, Secure AI Infrastructure Engineer, and MLOps/LLMOps Engineer.

Why now

AI security is the number-one reported cybersecurity skills gap, agentic-AI postings grew ~280% year over year, and AI skills carry a 15–40% wage premium — while almost no one delivers this as a tailored, live, compliance-aware cohort.

Frequently asked questions

Who is this track for?

Software, cloud, platform and security engineers on defense-contractor and regulated teams who build and secure AI — and GRC staff moving into hands-on AI security.

How is it delivered?

Live-virtual, instructor-led cohorts with foundational prep you can start immediately. New cohorts monthly; next 24 August 2026.

Do I take all three stages?

Take stages individually or as a discounted full-track bundle; most engineers start at Stage 1 and progress to the AI-security credential.
